BEST KEY LIME PIE IN TOWN! 12/11/2009

I went to the Palm today for lunch and had their Key Lime pie was disappointing, it does not hold a candle to 240 Union's in Lakewood.\r 240 Union's is tart and sweet with just the right balance. You have to try it.\r \r Pros: Excellent-would go back again and again more

Going Downhill Fast!!! 3/16/2009

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants because they always used to use quality ingredients and had creative menus. Not so anymore. They are now using premade, disgusting sauces and the taste and quality has gone way downhill. It is now not even the level of Macaroni Grill (another place that now uses premade, canned sauces). Very disappointing and I will not be returning. Cons: Using premade sauces more

Unfortunately, the quality of food is slipping. 12/2/2008

I agree with an earlier review. 240 Union prices and quality do not match up. The last several dining experiences have brought brown lettuce, flavors in various dishes not working together, flavors in dishes that just are not the quality of other restaurants in this same price category. I don't begrudge their prices when the quality of food is equal. Excellent service, lovely restaurant, food needs much improvement. I'm not writing this review to give them bad press. I'm hoping their management reads this review, and brings back the quality of food the restaurant offered a couple years ago. I have also noticed that other restaurants in this same price range are still filled on the weekends whereas 240 Union no longer is. That's not just the economy speaking. Pros: Ambience, parking, courteous staff. Cons: Quality of food and combinations of flavors slipping. more

Not Worth the Price 9/17/2008

This restaurant was ok, but certainly not what I would expect given the prices on their menu. It took our waiter over 10 minutes to arrive at the table for our drink order- never a good start. The food was good, but bland, and for the price, I could have gotten just as good, or a better pasta dish at a chain restaurant. Thank goodness my husband and I had a promotional coupon for one free entree. My husband's pork was okay, but bland as bland can get- have they not heard of fresh herbs?\r \r My salad was obviously out of a Fresh Express bag, and was not worth $8- the leaves were turning brown on the edges.\r \r The busboy was so surly he could have curdled milk.\r \r All in all, we were disappointed in the food, and don't feel it was worth the price. Won't return. more

Something for everybody 4/27/2008

First visit to 240 Union and even though it's a bit out of the way for us, we'll return. Our party tried the sizzling shrimp, linguini, grilled scallops, the pistachio-encrusted pork chop and the nightly special, which was walleye. A few of us being mid-westerners, when we see walleye, we fight to see who gets to order it. All breads, appetizers, wines and dinners were great. The wine list, although not huge in the by the glass options, still has a couple of nice finds. Try a little Semillon with dessert. In fact, the after dinner menu has something for everybody. If I had any complaints, it was the length of time, between sitting down and getting the water and/or drink order. You don't want to be rushed but at the same time, you do want somebody to notice you. It's a fine line that was strained a couple of times during the evening, not bad but the line was crossed. Nothing to keep us from coming back though. Pros: Fine food for the adults, good variety for the kids Cons: Can get a bit loud, parking is tight on weekends more

consistently great 4/12/2008

We have been customers for years, and we have been very happy with the wine list, service, and food. We think that 240 is a good value for the price, and we recommend dining here.\r We have always been happy with our food. We have tried most items on the menu. Pros: great food, great service Cons: can be a bit noisy when crowded more

Wonderful Spot for fine dining at reasonable prices 12/30/2007

Had dinner with son and daughter in law. Sunday evening at @ 8:00 pm before New Years. Place was half filled. Waiter was very friendly and engaging. Drinks were well executed and the menu looked good. The seafood and calamari were excellent, the pasta very good. Desserts were OK. Wine list was good with fair prices. I could go here 5 times a year and always be happy. Highly recommended for good dining at reasonable prices and fine service. Pros: Great food good value good service Cons: I dont live here year round more

Not worth the $$$ 5/2/2007

Although I found the atmosphere to be quite lovely, the food and service left something to be desired. There is no better way to end a long work day than a glass of wine and a great pasta dish. While I found the wine delightful, the pasta had no flavor and the chicken was rubbery. The server in the lounge could not seem to handle her work load, even though she had my table- a party of one, and a two top of woman. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant: the price you pay, is not worth what you get. more

Great seafood and atmosphere 11/2/2006

It may not look like it from the outside, but 240 Union is one of the best seafood restaurants in the Denver area. Their atmosphere is casual, yet elegant, and the food quality is always excellent. I highly recommend them for lunch or dinner. more

Poor customer service. 9/18/2006

Although the food was okay, the service was about the same that someone would receive at ""Burger King"". When we notified the manager, Michael, he agreed that we were treated extremely unprofessionally, and that he would take care of it. After saying so, the server, Beth, did not improve her ""Burger King"" attitude, and we are still not certain, what Michael took care of? When we left the restaurant, we told the manager, Michael, that we would not be back. He simply replied, ""okay"". This was so unacceptable. I'm a doctorin Denver, who comes from a small town, and no one treats anyone as badly in my small town, as we were treated at 240 Union. more

A Longtime Favorite 12/5/2005

My husband and I eat at 240 Union at least 6 times a year. We love the fresh seasonal ingredients that make up the recipes, as well as the extensive wine list. This is the place where we always bring out of town guests and they always thank us for it! Pros: Fresh ingredients, Comfy, warm atmospher, Friendly waitstaff more

Seafood!!!!!!!! 12/29/2002

I like to dine in 240 Union. Easy to reach from I25, good food all round but unworldly good for seafood. Pizza's are better than I have ever eaten anywhere else, including the country that invented them (other good pizza places are the Med in Boulder, Panzano and Carabbas' chicken pizza). Nice and quiet atmosphere despite the open kitchen. An asset to Denver's gourmet palette. Pros: atmosphere, food, winelist more

Treat! 9/6/2002

Thinking about this place makes my appitite run wild. The reviewer was right, order the shrimp appetizer! The best shrimp I've ever had and great to dip the bread in. Lunch specials are wonderfull, different every day. Try any of the fish, always fresh and always cooked perfect. The Atmosphere was trendy, the management goes out of the way to check up on every table, service is luxourious. An abosulte treat. Although the crowd seems too business like, unbutton the collar and relax. Meal for two under $60.00 - Great food at a great price. Pros: fast service, very inexpensive, Treat you good Cons: Business Crowd, Bad Parking more

Mmmm 7/29/2002

240 is an excellent place to take friends and family. You are always assured of a food for a reasonable price and incredibly friendly waitstaff. It is conistently a good choice. If you are ever disatisfied they will bend over backwards to make it up to you. Deserts are to die for! Pros: Excellent Food, Reasonable Price, Friendly Wait Staff more
