Businiess name:  Tivon Salon & Spa
Review by:  Emily C.
Review content:
Tivon provides the full range of salon and day spa services, but I have only been there for hair appointments. I saw Amy Kidd, who was recommended to me by friends. I went there to have 12 inches cut from my hair, and I wanted a stylist who would make my hair look good short, despite its many quirks. Amy delivered. She also did a great job of maintaining my hairstyle as it grew back out (at least, as long as I was reliable about returning) and taught me how to make the style look good when I did it myself each morning. I am usually frustrated by hairstylists expecting me to have a clue how my hair should be done -- they're the experts, right? -- so I'm thrilled to have someone who's willing to take charge, and to take the time to do it right. It's not super-cheap (for Blacksburg -- Amy would make a fortune at the high-end salons in a bigger market) and it's hard to get an appointment, but she's worth the wait and the money.
