I set up a new patient appointment and arrived 25 minutes before my appointment time. I signed in and then waited nearly and hour and was never checked in. The staff did not seem all that busy, yet I was not checked in or even talked to (neither were two people who checked in right before me, and 2 people after me). I left, as I had to get to work, and called the office - I was told there were computer issues. I was never told that while I waited and waited in their lobby. My husband had better first appointment experience than I did, but has had a terrible time getting a much needed prescription refill sent to the pharmacy - instead, the office wanted to give him samples (in lieu of a prescription). Response time to phone calls is slow, and it seems as though no one knows what anyone else is doing in the office. Because my health is very important to me, I have decided to seek out another doctor and office that seems more focused on patient care. The median age of the patients seems to be that of retirement age. I point this out only to say that I believe that their slow response time is due to the fact that the majority of their patients do not have pressing timeline issues and can be more accommodating to the slow response. Chatham Family Practice seems to be a bit disorganized and definitely not client focused. I would not recommend this doctor's office to anyone who takes their health seriously.
