Review content:
The ambience of the place was great with a strong upscale NYC feel; there was a weird smell when I walked through the door like an old mildew dishtowel was sitting around by the front door. So we ordered sparkling water, a Cabernet, the 10 oz Filet, Bone-In Rib Steak, Cream Spinach, Mac and Cheese and Chocolate Brownie with Marshmallow topping. We wanted to try the Scallop Ceviche for an appetizer however; they were totally out. The sparkling water came out fine however; the waiter nor his assistance every came back out to refill our glasses over the course of the meal (that?s one strike), the warm bread was excellent with a blue cheese butter (thumbs up), the wine was good however the same issue occurred I was pouring the wine for myself and my date (strike two) over the course of the meal. I can't comment on the filet however; my friend expressed it was good. I ordered the Bone-In Rib eye cooked medium and I explicitly expressed please season the meat....it came back well done and not seasoned, which was quickly corrected (it took 7-8 minutes) which really messed up (strike three) . The cream spinach was excellent cooked just right and not over cooked the Mac and Cheese was delicious. The dessert was out of this world Warm Chocolate S'more...if love chocolate I would definitely recommend the dessert (the best part of the whole meal). Customer Service....was not horrible but pretty bad....the waiter was nice however; I'm not tipping just based on you being nice....its based on a full service experience. Food....was okay....I was expecting more from the rib eye and it wasn't seasoned (all the other side dishes were good however; everything was al carte) Atmosphere was definitely a NYC vibe, which was cool...smelly towel not cool. All in all....the total meal excluding the tip was $175....would I come back?? Probably not. If you want to be seen you probably will enjoy yourself ;). Pros: Dessert, Ambience Cons: Smelly old dish towel smell by the front door and service was WEAK.
