The parking here is scarce seeing that it is so close to downtown Hartford.
This is an upscale dining casual restaurant near the bus and train station.
There can be some traffic at times but the food is worth the wait.
The staff is pleasant. The food portions are not so grand but the flavours are excellent. Great seating, close to the park.

let me start of by saying that this is one amazing place. i have been here a couple times and the atmosphere, the people, and the wait staff is great. the food is an A+(try the tort rose) the service is quick and the staff is friendly. no real complaints except that the waiters are a little lazy it seems that they do not do anything but take the order. The busboys are the one's that really took care of us. they were there for everything we needed. (Thanks Amanda and Paul) you guys were great. i would recommend and have recommended this place. keep up the good work guys, and thanks for the amazing garlic bread Jimmy it was great with left overs.
P.S. don't think about getting into the bar for drinks on the weekends its cramped full of people
Pros: service
Cons: parking/ bar

I took my best friend to Morton's to celebrate her new job. What an incredible time we had. Our server, Richard was very attentive and made a lot of great suggestions. I had the Chicago style Ribeye on the bone and my friend had the filet , which was huge! We started with Crab Cakes, which were the best I've had and then split a salad. For dessert Richard suggested the Hot Lava Cake which we were going to split. Then the maitre'd came by with a tray of complimentary after dinner drinks and we ordered the Creme Brulee to go with them!. We had our share of "Mortinis" . I had the Pomegranate. Yum! And the cherry on the cake was the photo taken of us at the table and then presented in a card.
We were totally impressed!

Every Wednesday night @ City Steam in Hartford PV O'Donnell (an internationally known irish filddler) and friends get together and play Irish music. There is no cover, the appetizers are fantastic (try the home made potato chips) and they brew their own beer. The musicians are simply people who live the music, so get together and play - very casual, very fun. This is the kind of thing people go to Dublin to find, but instead end up in a tourist trap.

I totally agree with the other reviews on the First & Last Tavern. It has the second best pizza I've ever had! The atmosphere is great and staff friendly. I will say its busy evenings and weekends and not always easy to find a parking space - but worth the time waiting. Bon appetie!

Last night I enjoyed my first (but not last) dining experience at Carbone's in Hartford. I had heard the name. Carbone's is an old family owned place that has been around forever. Although I was confident I would have a good time (I was dining with a group of friends), I was not prepared to be blown away by the food. Italian like it's supposed to be!
I'll be back.
Pros: Incredible cuisine
Cons: busy- had a wait for a table

City Steam offers a lot of options depending on what you are looking for. They have a well sized bar with music, a pool table room, and of course their well known comedy club. The food is above the average sports bar food - which makes it a nice location even just for dinner if that is all you are looking for. I have gone to the comedy club several times - only once was I disappointed to find that the girl on the phone the previous night that seemed lost truly was and didn't take our reservation. They got is in anyway - closer to the stage then I would have preferred but we faired ok. The comedians range I have seen some good ones as well as some horrible ones. I would check the comedians website before attending to see if it is an act you would be interested in. The prices are average - so the extras within the location allow it to become an above average location for meeting up with friends, first dates, and group outings.

Wow. Amazing breakfasts. The home fries are the trademark here, and boy – they are worth it. This place is absolutely packed in the mornings – go here on a weekend morning and there is literally a line out the door and into the parking lot. But it’s worth it. The food is great, cooked to order, and best of all, it’s astonishingly inexpensive. We’re talking $5 total at most for a full breakfast, everything included.
