As the owner of this facility Id like to start with an apology , both for your dog being soiled and the response you were given when you asked why. \r Id also like to explain a bit about how my facility operates . I believe that may shed some light on why dogs go home soiled after boarding.\r The weather has much to do with how clean your dog stays due to the fact that unlike many kennels we allow a great deal of outdoor play time. Therefore when we have a lot of rain your dog will get dirty. This is a choice on my part , I believe most dogs are happier when they are active and getting lots of stimulus. Another way dogs get soiled is by just behaving like a dog. It is not unusual for dogs to decide they need to mark their bedding. I have seen many dogs mark with urine as well as feces and promptly lie down in it as if to say this is mine. Being away from home can sometimes bring about behavior that they have never displayed at home. They can become possessive as well as territorial. \r Some dogs love nothing better than to drag the bedding and even food bowls across their waste. They are after all dogs. I often try to relate your dogs visit with us to your child going away to camp. It is our goal here to insure your dog has a great stay so like your child who comes home happy, smelly and with a bag full of dirty clothes so it is with your dog after boarding.\r \r \r While I hope this gives you a better understanding of kennels I also realize you cannot please everyone all the time. Not every kennel will be a good fit for every dog. We are more geared towards fun , activity, play, and most of all lots of love and attention. We are not the place to send your dog for sofa and t.v. time.\r In our 14 years of business we have seen hundreds of dogs with nearly all of them loving each visit and always happy to come again.\r It is our suggestion that before boarding you always visit and see the facility yourself to determine if we are the right fit for your dog. We take much pride in our sanitation process and welcome visitors.\r \r As a last thought we always recommend a bath after boarding and yes that is in addition to your boarding fee. Many kennels do include a bath with your stay , however this is also reflected in your cost per day.
