Took my car here for state inspection, and they wanted to charge me a ridiculous $335 for two brake pads. I replaced them myself for $28. It took under an hour (i.e. they wanted the equivalent of over $300/hour for labor).. Brought the car back, and they magically started finding things they had missed on the first inspection. They said they were failing it for a missing lens over one of the license plate lamps. (I knew the lens had been missing for a year. They had no explanation for missing it on the first inspection. It seems this place cannot do an inspection correctly.) They wanted $216 to replace the lighting assembly. They lied and said they can't order the lens by itself. Well, I had no problem ordering the OEM lens. I replaced it for $18. It took about two minutes.I noticed Sussman also hadn't told me one of the lamps was burned out. I replaced that for $1.29. I brought the car back, and shockingly they failed it again. This time they pointed out the lighting assembly over the license plate wiggled a little. State law says the lights have to be securely fastened and illuminate the plate (which they certainly were and did. It was not possible to move them so they didn't illuminate the plate). So I brought it to a reputable place, with higher ratings online, and it passed. The mechanics there laughed when I told them what Sussman wanted to do, and what they wanted to charge me. The inspection was cheaper there, also. It seems that Sussman will lie to you, and find BS things wrong with your car, because they must work on commission. While I was waiting, someone else was threatening to demand a refund for a car he had just purchased there. He sounded as fed-up with Sussman as I am.
