I've been here twice thus far: once for a girl's birthday get-together and once on a date. If you've made dinner reservations, you dress respectably, and you have some extra spendin' cash, you'll enjoy yourself. If you wander in at the last minute on a weekend evening expecting to get a drink, well... good luck to ya. The bouncers have attitude, which is to be expected: we're talking velvet ropes, headsets and clipboards in Beverly Hills. If you're limited to their downstairs bar area, you'll soon realize just how crowded it gets. Sure, they have funky lighting, decor, music, couch seating and stiff drinks, but you might get annoyed after contorting your body sideways for the umpteenth time in order to let some gel-haired, sleeves-unbuttoned, Mercedes-driving, testosterone-laden, faux-metrosexual squeeze past you on his way to the bathroom. If you're the lucky person with dinner reservations, then you slip past the second set of bouncers on your way up the curved staircase to their upper dining room. Sit in a red velvet booth, order the fondue and get some wine or cocktails -- it's an experience. The desserts are good, too. Pony up for the bill and then witness the staff push the tables aside as the evening progresses -- the upstairs turns into a dance club! Luckily, you didn't have to pay cover or wait in line like a chump... now you get to watch homies in baseball caps, Timberlands and oversized sports team jerseys buy drinks for their scantily-clad ladyfriends. Watch them shake that thang on the dance floor. Do a little shaking yourself! All in all, quite the experience. Pros: Funky decor, stiff drinks, fondue and... a dance club! Cons: Expensive upstairs, crowded downstairs, and it gets louder as the evening progresses
