Review content:
When I go out for a really nice dinner, I expect really good food, great personable service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. I can't say I was met with all of my criteria at my dinner at Vincent's last night. Let's start with the good. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with nice lighting, cozy dining area and quaint ambiance. Our waitress was knowledgable and efficient (maybe even a little too efficient), but she had absolutely no personality, which I guess isn't a fault of Vincent's, but it did affect our experience . The food was delivered so quickly. We were in and out in an hour. I don't know about you, but I like to sit around and savor the experience. We started with the Shrimp Lejon - Shrimp wrapped in bacon dipped in a sauce that seemed to be a glorified version of Russian Dressing. The shrimp was large, but it was chewy and seemed over cooked. The bacon made it taste pretty good, but wrap anything in bacon and it would probably taste good to me. No big shakes. My husband ordered the special filet with shitake mushrooms. I thought this was the best entree because the steak was tender and the shitakes were sauteed in butter and I love shitakes in butter. He thought "yeah, its good and tender, but when I order a steak in a restaurant and it is $29.00 it should be really really great." The other thing about steak in a restaurant is you want rocking mashed potatoes right? These were cold, chewy and tasteless. My husband likes mine own better. I ordered the special pasta, which was ravioli with chiken and portabellos smothered in corn and roasted peppers. It was $28.00 and consisted of about 7 ravioli and they tasted like some of the gormet ravioli you can get in the supermarket, frankly. The brocolli that came with the meal was sauteed in sesame oil, which created a flavor that was a bit too strong. The bill was $83.00 with a $16.00 tip and we only ordered 1 glass of wine each. Overall, not worth the money or the calories. Pros: atmosphere, fast service Cons: too efficient, average food, high price
