Review content:
We found Rangmahal in our Entertainment book, so we decided to make the trip out from eastern LI to give it a try. \r \r First off, the restaurant was very charming and cozy. The tables were elegantly set with interesting, heavy Indian flatware and small candles for a romantic air. The service was amazing! The chef even came around to the tables, which we thought was really nice. The fact that this restaurant is a family owned business showed and made all the difference. \r \r The list of cocktails was different and interesting, so we took a gander on the Monsoon Wedding and the Mango Martini, which were delicious. The waiter who helped us make our choices was ever so helpful and courteous. He even stated that if we didn't like our beverages he could bring us something else. You don't find service like this every day. How wonderful, right!!?? \r \r Then came our food: The vegetable samosas were absolutely superbe, covered with the most light and delectable crust. As for our Navratan kormas they were....mmm...so exquisite. We were in heaven! The double layer, chocolate covered, chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a raspberry and almond filling was just the right thing to top off our delicious meal. \r \r Plainly put, the food we ate here was the BEST Indian food we ever tasted!! (So sorry to all the Indian Nanis we know!). This restaurant was definately worth our 45 minute drive and we will without a doubt come again with friends. In our opinion, Rangmahal is indeed a must try if you are on Long Island! Go there to experience a meal as wonderful as we had. :) Pros: Impeccable service and delicious food. Cons: I am not sure if there is a parking lot. We parked in front of the restaurant on the roadside.
