Review content:
I had my first Brazilian bikini wax at Unique yesterday at the 7th ave location. When I arrived, I was rushed into a room and left with no instruction as to undress, lie down, etc. Being new to the whole process I would have appreciated a bit of a description as to what was about to happen and perhaps a modesty towel or drape... I tried to voice my concerns to the waxer, but there was definitely a language barrier. She used the chocolate wax and was very abrupt and gave me no warning as to what she was doing. It was extremely painful and she went over the same areas many times, and I still had and uneven strip and a few patches of hair remaining in the end. I tried to explain this, and to ask about ingrown sand aftercare, but my waxer could not understand what I was asking. In the end I was left waddling out of the salon in quite a bit of pain. The area remained red, swollen, and very painful for the rest of the night. Advil and other pain meds provided minimal relief, and I resorted to going to bed with an icepack on the area. A day later I am still swollen and some bruising is starting to develop. I had to clean up the stray hairs myself and while I am pleased with the new look, I will not be returning to this salon. I hope that tomorrow the swelling and pain will subside. Pros: inexpensive Cons: everything else
