Review content:
We visited the Museum of the City of New York while it was undergoing a big renovation, so this perhaps colored our overall view. We arrived via the side entrance and weren't sure where to go. We were then waved over to pay and let again to our own devices, having no idea of where to start. So, we meandered over to the elevator and took it to the 2nd floor. Once there, we managed to be among the first folks to see the new Apollo Theater exhibit (a docent asked us how it was once we exited and explained to us that the exhibit had literally opened 10 minutes earlier), which was fantastic. From there, we took the grand staircase up to the 3rd floor and again meandered about; nothing really stuck out as impressive or interesting, but since we see a whole lot of museums maybe I am just jaded. We spent about 45 minutes all told inside the museum and that was actively trying to find interesting things to see.
