Went to Bay Ridge Honda today. I have purchased many Hondas over the years (one a year on average), even worked for a Honda dealership many years back. Today was the worst sales experience I have ever had at a Honda dealership. I went in Sunday afternoon, totally ready to complete a transaction on a Honda CR-Z. First of all, the initial salesman I was greeted by and worked with was very nice, but then, another salesman, who was nice as well - seemed to hi-jack me as a customer from the other salesman which was very off-putting. I made it very clear, I wanted a CR-Z in gray, wanted to test drive, and buy today. After spending an hour, I was told that they couldn't test drive on Sundays - per the sales manager because of the "union" as the support staff doesn't work on Sundays. I have never heard of this in my life. During my time there - they kept asking me - hey, how about an Accord, or a Fit, or we got a 2010 Acura TL on trade - NO! I want CR-Z. I simply don't get this. I would have loved to have a customer that knew exactly what they wanted, and was ready to buy in the same day. Instead, they ignored what I kept saying, and then had every excuse why they couldn't have a car ready to drive. What? Did they not pay their insurance for the dealer plates or something? So, I had to speak to the sales manager (I love that - "let me have your speak to my manager") What? Why? I am here ready, right now, and you want me to speak to your manager, because now I am leaving the dealership because you guys have no clue what you're doing? The manager didn't even extend a handshake, just the lame excuse that it's Sunday and they can't do test-drives. Whatever. So, I left. When in my car, the salesman ran out - and said - "my manager said that I guess we screwed up and he will personally go get the black navi crz from the garage" - if you're serious and ready to buy right now. HELLO! I DON"T want BLACK, I DON'T want Navi. What the heck? I told him that they don't listen to their customers and they've wasted enough of my time. CLUELESS.
