I have gotten takeout there many times, and they have great sashimi. This says a lot about a place - while it isn't hard to find great sashimi around here, a piece of simple raw fish will tell you a lot about the restaurant serving it. It tells you if they know how to choose fish, how to cut it, how to determine which parts stand alone and which need to be cooked or dressed, which ones should be bought fat and which lean, and for god's sake how to take the bones out. I have had sashimi with bones accidentally left in, and while it was cheap....
Well, I like the sashimi at Isobune. They have a wide selection even off the sushi bar boats - in fact, they have more kinds of sashimi than any other place I've been to yet, which is a good way to make me happy. And I always get a good meal here, no matter which kinds of sashimi I pick. It's firm, flavorful, and practically glowing. Yay for Isobune.
