I have an ex who calls this place the Odious, but it's said with love. Once a scene-and-a-half in the eighties, it's now just another place, often frequented by those who have much more extreme memories of its early days. the food is still good, the room is still nice, but if you're not part of the neighborhood or don't have some odd, long-lingering affection for it, there's really no reason to go. The service can be spotty (not rude, just clueless), but otherwise, there's no reason not to go if you're looking for a good brasserie, and it's fairly accommodating to groups of 6 - 10.
