There is simply nothing nicer than seeing a movie in the opulent splendor of an old historic theater like the Del Mar. This theater is beautifully preserved. It is so hard to find theaters like this!
If you like 'artsy' films, Del Mar has them. Lately, they have been playing more of the popular titles. There is the main theater which is by far the best place to see any film, especially an epic like 'Gone with the Wind'.
The upper balcony has been converted into two very tiny theaters. They do lack the splendor of the main theater, which is decorated in gold gilt art deco motifs.
You'll fall in love with this theater! Hopefully, you'll have the means to become one of the patrons who are helping to save it with donations!!
