Cafe Trieste is a lovely open air cafe along Sausalito's waterfront. They serve up a good cafe mocha and have a nice selection of light meals and scrumptious desserts that you can enjoy either indoors or out.

One nice feature of Cafe Trieste is that it has an ATM machine, which seem to be a rarity in Sausalito.

The historic Cliff House Restaurant is a great place to visit. The old building is a delight and diners can enjoy a great meal in Victorian elegance. The prices can be a bit high, but it is worth it when you want to enjoy a nice meal in a very special place.
In addition to the great atmosphere inside, the Cliff House Restaurant has a lot to offer outside too.
The beach below is a great place to collect sand dollars. These round white crustation's shells have a flower shape in the center and are quite lovely. It is one of the few beaches I know of where these shells are easily found.
The ruins of the Sutro Baths are fun located within walking distance as well. These ruins are the last remains of the once opulent Sutro Bath House which burned to the ground many years ago and once housed an extensive collection of Egyptian artifacts. These artifacts are now in the collection of San Francisco State University.

Mr. Toot's Coffeehouse is located upstairs and overlooks the ocean. I recommend visiting on a day when it is raining and the ocean is a bit stormy. The view is spectacular and you're safe and warm watching it all with a hot double latte!!

When my son was ready to pick out his first surfboard, we looked at a lot of used boards, but had a very difficult time finding the type of board he wanted, in the correct size that was still in good condition. We found the perfect surfboard at Arrow Surf Products.
Arrow Surf Products has not only a good selection of new surfboards, but an extensive selection of used boards to choose from.

Cowell's Surf Shop is the place to go if you are just learning to surf. It is located right next to Cowell's Beach where the surf is gentle and a great place for aspiring surfers to "get their feet wet".
The knowledgeable staff at Cowell's helped me to get outfitted with the properly sized gear for my first time out. They were able to fit me with a properly sized wet suit and with a good beginning level board.
The rental rates were very reasonable and I had a great time learning to surf!

The decor in Pizza My Heart is a lot of fun to look at as you are munching a slice of pepperoni. The place is decorated in early surfer memorabilia, including some real oddities- like a metal, motorized surfboard that hangs from the ceiling!

Jungle Juice has terrific smoothies! You can choose from a wide variety of combinations of fruits and frozen yogurt. The staff is friendly and courteous and the building is bright, open and spacious, with a few small tables. The biggest surprise is the floor- take a look, it's a neat floor that I've never seen anywhere else. It is made of yellow pebbles coated in resin!!

It's a quiet little place and I've never seen it with more than a few people at a time. It is a great place to read or study while enjoying a great cup of coffee.
