You go to the AMC theater for the same reason you go to 7-11, convenience. The matinees are $7.50 (pricey compared to the $6.00 at Landmark). The popcorn doesn't have refills. The seats are fine, nothing to brag about. But here's what makes it worthewhile: the "butter" is soybean oil. This may not mean anything to you, but if your girlfriend is a vegan or someone lactose intolerant and popcorn is 80% of what makes movies worthwhile, this will make all the difference.
