The Maui Prince hotel in Makena was the perfect first stop after our wedding. Not as fancy as the other hotels you'll pass on the way their (the Maui Prince is at the end of the line, which makes the beach even more private and amazing), it was great for us. The huge grounds made us feel like we were completely on our own, and the beach is truly amazing. The pool is a little small, and I'd spend money at other hotel restaurants first (do not miss Nick's Fish Market and Sarrento's on the beach). But definitely a gem.
