Year-round, this is a gorgeous place for a visit. Drive the loop through the arboretum, and drive slowly, as there is much more there than immediately meets the eye. There are great gardens to visit when you get out of your car as well. I highly recommend the Japanese
garden, as it is a very fine one. Just beyond the Japanese garden there is a vast hosta garden. In the spring, the azaleas are stunning. Even on rainy days, it is quite beautiful—it has a certain majesty and dignity that glows, regardless of the weather.
