I'm often shocked by how often people who live in other parts of the city give me a blank stare when I mention Lincoln Park. In particular, Northenders seem to think they won some sort of public space lottery with Greenlake and Discovery Park and once again I roll my eyes, thinking about Alki Beach (West Seattle has a real, actual beach people) and Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park is 135 acres of everything you'd ever want in a park, it has hidden trails, play areas and wading pools, secluded picnic areas, ball fields, tennis fields, beach front and Colman pool, which is a heated, outdoor saltwater pool with views of the Puget Sound, housed in a historical building. more
