One of many good locations to see live theater. We have seen 3 musicals there so far and have enjoyed all three. Although not as cozy as some of the smaller venues such as the Montgomery Theater and SJ Rep, the good acoustics and sound system make up for it. This is the largest venue (I think) of the downtown SJ theater facilities so if you're in the back third of the theater, the actors look fairly small. There is a very small grade so the seats in the back are not ideal for detailed viewing. Just make sure you order early and avoid the rear third and you'll be fine. Prices aren't as bad as those for SF theatres but aren't cheap either, avg low $60s if bought as part of season ticket plans. A bit more if bought individually.
