Inexpensive "high-priced-salon" hair cut 8/17/2005

The Advanced Training Salon is a place to go to get a hair cut or color from stylists who (if they pass) will soon be working at the Gene Juarez salons in the area for double the price. The average cut or color is about $30. I like that I can get a different stylist every time I go, if I choose to, without feeling like I’ve dissed the person I had before by not going back. It’s a pretty big place and always busy. The stylists give much attention to detail and spend quite a bit of time discussing what you want and what you like with you before they start. Since it’s a training salon, a “teacher” or supervisor checks in with the stylist several times along the way to see how they are doing and keeps an eye on them at all times. It seems like there are 4 or so stylists per teacher. I like this place because of their tremendous attention to detail and eagerness to please. And it’s a pretty cheap hair cut compared to some other places in the city. However, it is also not the best hair cut you can get. If you want something simple, then go here by all means, but if you start to get too complicated or have something very specific in mind then you may be disappointed depending on who you get. more
