New Haven is known for it's Theatre, and Long Wharf has a long history of it.
It's located on Sargent Drive, right off I-95 and has a lot of Broadway style theatre.. The 400+ seat theatre is nice, but usually cold. It's location leaves a lot to the imagination (located near a meat factory) and often has a pungent smell outside because of the meat.
Long Wharf has many promotions -- sometimes pay what you can nights where you pay what you can for seats.
If/when you go, don't buy tickets in sections A or G... You won't be happy and the shows are difficult to enjoy from these locations.
They close during the summer, but have some type of show there even in off times.
