One thing to keep in mind when ordering here is that a whole portion makes for a bigger bill than a half and waiters know bigger bill = bigger tip. I've seen waiters suggest a whole portion to first timers, implying that a "real man" should be able to handle it (in front of his date of course). This place is best for groups because it is family style portions, but if you do go on a date - a half portion is a large portion for one person. The food is good, though the pasta selections are fairly limited to tomato sauce and olive oil. I'd like to see Chicken Cacciatore added to the menu too. For family style Italian with nice atmosphere and a twist on the classics you should enjoy Fratelli. If you're just going for the family style food, I'd try Buca di Bepo.
