Rumor has it Al Capone once owned this club on the northside. A classic jazz club, complete with long, curved bar, huge booths and small upclose stage hosts some of Chicago's (and the country's) finest talent. Aficionados will recognize Kurt Elling, Patricia Barber and Von Freeman among the regulars. Drinks are reasonable, offset by the $14 cover for headliners, $7 after midnight (Sabretooth is awesome). On weekends, loud, smoky, standing room only--what every jazz lover treasures!
