What I paid to an outside mechanic for the job: $300.
I expect to pay a premium at the dealership. They have special knowledge and equipment. But more than FIVE TIMES the cost? That's not a premium; that's a dishonest mechanic.
Not only that, they told me there was a ""50-50 chance"" that once they did that initial repair, I'd have to spend another $4,000 on an engine rebuild.
I had the work done elsewhere, obviously, car runs great, that was a few months ago.
If that's the ethic in the service dept, how can I trust the sales staff - or anyone else for that matter.
Personally, I won't be back.
