COD - huh? 6/10/2010

My garage was affected by the 2010 flood..my washer was part of that...after the water receded, we hooked it up and it worked....and then stopped working on June 5th. On June 7th, I called Maytag - telling them it was part of the flood, but it was working fine afterward until the 5th. They said as long as I could provide my proof of purchase (which I could) they would send out a service to get it fixed.\r \r Ken's Appliance service window to fix the washer was 9 - 5pm, and then called on June 9th to state it would be 9am to 11am. Upon arriving, and reviewing the proof - the servicer called back into the company and stated this was part of the flood. Maytag stated - it was not covered by the warranty.\r \r The servicer (via my landlord) calls me up to ask for his COD...huh??? For what I ask?? 1. Maytag stated it was covered. 2. I told Maytag it was part of the flood, but was working fine. 3. If Maytag was the company that sent Ken's appliance out -- Maytag should fork out the COD....there were plenty of opportunities for them to figure out they were not going to cover it. 4. Ken's Appliance is a Nashville company -- it should have dawned on them quickly that the location was part of the flood (it was all over tv).....this company seems to want something for nothing.....I would never use them. Pros: called within 48 hours of call to maytag Cons: Servicer asks for COD when Maytag said it was covered. more
