I got a cake made for my daughter’s 5th birthday party. The cake was supposed to feed 25-30 people with extra if people wanted to bring any home. The charge was $88.00. When I picked it up it was much smaller then I had expected and could probably only feed 15-20 people. I voiced my concern and they gave me a few “sample” cupcakes. I was disappointed that I had spent $88.00 and I really didn’t get what I requested, however, it was time for the party so I took the cake and left. So we take the cake home, serve it to our guests only to find that the frosting on the cake was EXTREMELY salty, no one ate much more then a bite or two before throwing it away. To make matters worse, one of my guests found a piece of plastic wrap in his cake (luckily not a child). I was so upset by the whole ordeal. I made several phone calls to Merry, and wanted to speak directly with her, however, I had to go through one of the girls who work there. I was offered $20 dollars towards my next order which I was not willing to accept, she up it to $40 which I did not accept either as I had no intention to purchase another cake from her. I just wanted a refund for the cake and I was more then willing to return what was left of it. I wanted to speak directly to Mary; however, Mary NEVER returned my phone calls. I finally called back and was able to speak to her. She said she was aware of what happened, but just didn’t seem to care. She had a nasty attitude about the whole thing. She said I was lying about the plastic wrap in the cake, and said “I have NO plastic anywhere in my kitchen”! She said I would have to bring the cake back to see if SHE THOGUHT it was salty! She was very rude and unprofessional. I told her that her customer service sucked and that I was going to report her to the BBB. She said I “sucked as a customer” and that I was trying to blackmail her and ruin her business, stating that I’m “probably having finical problems”! She has to be the most rude and unprofessional woman I have ever dealt with in my entire life. The sad part about it is I was a loyal customer of hers for years, referring family, friends and co-workers to her; however, when I expressed my issue with the cake I was disregarded and treated with such disrespect by Merry herself!! I may have given her 5 stars in the past but after this experience, if I could give her negative stars I would! NEVER EVER again will I purchase anything from her OR refer her to ANYONE! ABSOLULY APPALLING BUSINESS OWNER!
