Fantastic 5/11/2009

i wanted to surprise my girlfriend with exotic food and ambiance but instead, i surprised myself. This is a true diamond in the rough restaurant, rich with cultural experience. Besides the decore, a theater size screen projects pictures form north africa and movies such as casablanca and Lawrence of arabia. The screen is turned off when belly dancers come out. We ordered the royal/sultan feast (they have a vegetarian version also) and it was absolutly to die for. After a hand washing ceremony (rose water), we were presented with a variety of salads and a sweet dish called bastilas, which has to be my favorite; Filo dough filled with sweet chicken and topped with sugar and cinnamon. I was stuffed by the main course (chicken tagine) but the couscous and kebobs were so good that i had to make room. hot tea and baklova were served for desserts. The service was warm and friendly, much like a family taking care of you. After all, it was a family of brothers and a mom taking care of us. The only draw back is that the place became very crowded after 7pm and the service slowed down a bit as a result. In summary, Little Marrakesh is an excellent choice for a unique experience. Pros: Royal feast and entertainment Cons: crowded more
