My boyfriend and I got a United Artists gift certificate and recently attended a showing of Fast and Furious. When we walked into buy the tickets, there was only one person at the ticket sales, even though there was multiple people in line. The person was extremely nice but apparently overworked. Next we went to go get some snacks before the movie and they packed up all the snacks even though we were five minutes early to the last showing. Not even one tray was left out for us to look through. When we walked up to the counter, there was a disgruntled man arguing with what seemed to be a manager about the taste of their Coke being flat. We were then rudely ushered to a different line to order drinks, avoiding the Coke to be sure. The movie wasn't any better unfortunately and not only was the screen awkward but the sound kept clipping between low volume and high volume randomly between scenes (I think I even saw my boyfriend jump a couple times out of surprise). When I saw a manager stroll through the theater, I thought that they were going to fix the problem, however the person was only making sure the doors were shut. I thought about talking to a manager about all the issues we experienced however the thought of a set of free tickets didn't really compel me to do so because honestly, I don't know if I'd ever come back to this theater again.
Overall, the place was quiet and clean and didn't have the same packed circus that AMC usually does which was great in the opinion of the friend of ours that came as well. However, it didn't have the awesome customer service or superb track record that AMC does either and when I go to see a movie, its to receive those qualities that this theater lacks.
Pros: Lower prices, less people
Cons: Everything that makes a great movie experience isn't present
