I happened to be in Ridgefield for the Birdfest Weekend, celebrating Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, the migration of the Sandhill Cranes and Bluegrass music. I stumbled into the Pioneer Street Cafe after a day of kayaking, not expecting to find much more than a burger and fries. Boy, what a surprise. An extensive wine by the glass menu, lots of dinner choices, great service after a full day of dealing with hundreds of people there for the festival and really good food. I'll be going back there again to sample their breakfast and lunch menus. Highly recommended, and a great day away from the City.
