The Oak Tree Apartments off San Fernando Road 1/17/2009

The Oak Tree Apartments are overall a nice place to live. Very quiet, in a great location and favorably priced. But, the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on around you, the manager Jim is very uncaring and a complete grouch, the kitchen sinks are very old so when you turn them on they make a loud noise almost every time. They're very slow when it comes to fixing things, I mean SLOW! If you fill out a work order you'll be lucky to have it taken care of in 2 weeks. I had timewarner cable and it was always going out so I switched to At&t U-Verse which I love but when they hooked up the the cable line the guy said the cable lines here and the phone lines here are ancient and the signals going through both of them are very week and he thinks a rodent may have chewed through one of the lines in the building. So apparently, according to him since the building was built they haven't replaced those wires. The stove and washer/dryer are also extremely old. And since it's a pet apartment no one picks up their dogs poo so all the grassy areas are covered in poo and the building management doesn't clean it up. And small dogs can fit through the bars in the dog park so that area is pretty much pointless unless you have a medium-large dog. Point being, the place is old, looks pretty but living here the oldness becomes very noticable, you can always hear you neighbor, the train comes like every other hour, so at about 2am and 4am you can hear the train whistle very loudly. And during a large earthquake I really don't think the building would hold up. Pros: Location, Pricing, Pets Allowed Cons: Old, Bad Management, Car Breakins alot, Poo everywhere more
