Great location and price 11/13/2011

I've lived her for two plus years and there is not a better bargain in the Santa Clarita valley. To give you an idea, the one bedroom is approx. $1,100 per month but it's almost 800 sq. ft. Compare that to most of the places around here that are around $1,200 but 500 - 650 sq feet. Washer and dryer in the unit and a fireplace. Close to any shopping that you might need. Yes, the buildings are old but they do a good job of maintaining them. If there is a problem, you can call 24 hours a day and someone will come over. Management does not put up with noise or animal problems. Best bargain in the area. more

Great location 4/8/2011

I can't believe how low the cost of rent is here compared to the other apartment communities around. Pets are welcome for only a one time deposit and NO rent is needed to be paid for them, how many other apartments can say that. Our apartment also comes with a fire place which will make a very welcoming atmosphere when winter comes. The balcony is huge and very private. The location is so close to the nearby Target, Walmart, Ralphs, everything is so convenient, even the gas station. The neighborhood is very quiet and the neighbors are friendly. Oh and I forgot to mention the apartment units also come with a washer and dryer, no need to go to the laudry mat or hassle with coins or cards. The manager Jim, I don't know who came off with the impression that he is rude. He is very friendly and if you have any problems or concerns, he makes sure that they are taken care of in a timely manner, ours weretaken care of within two days which I think is fast. There are two pools (one is heated), hot tubs, and 2 sauna rooms, plus a gym. When our lease is up next year, I plan on renewing it through Oak Tree. This is my first time living in an apartment, and I am in love with the place. more

The Oak Tree Apartments off San Fernando Road 1/17/2009

The Oak Tree Apartments are overall a nice place to live. Very quiet, in a great location and favorably priced. But, the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on around you, the manager Jim is very uncaring and a complete grouch, the kitchen sinks are very old so when you turn them on they make a loud noise almost every time. They're very slow when it comes to fixing things, I mean SLOW! If you fill out a work order you'll be lucky to have it taken care of in 2 weeks. I had timewarner cable and it was always going out so I switched to At&t U-Verse which I love but when they hooked up the the cable line the guy said the cable lines here and the phone lines here are ancient and the signals going through both of them are very week and he thinks a rodent may have chewed through one of the lines in the building. So apparently, according to him since the building was built they haven't replaced those wires. The stove and washer/dryer are also extremely old. And since it's a pet apartment no one picks up their dogs poo so all the grassy areas are covered in poo and the building management doesn't clean it up. And small dogs can fit through the bars in the dog park so that area is pretty much pointless unless you have a medium-large dog. Point being, the place is old, looks pretty but living here the oldness becomes very noticable, you can always hear you neighbor, the train comes like every other hour, so at about 2am and 4am you can hear the train whistle very loudly. And during a large earthquake I really don't think the building would hold up. Pros: Location, Pricing, Pets Allowed Cons: Old, Bad Management, Car Breakins alot, Poo everywhere more
