Probably the best foodie value in all of LA are the 99 cent fish tacos at TBE on Wednesdays. Two deep fried fresh fish fillets with shredded cabbage, diced tomatos, fresh cilantro and TBE's special sauce wrapped in two homemade corn tortillas. Wash it down with a cold Mexican beer or horchata soda. Other great menu items include the shrimp tostada that features probably 30 fat shrimps piled high on a warm corn tortilla or the squid tostada. No matter how busy this place gets, you are always greeted with a smile from the genuinely warm and friendly staff. You really would have to go to Ensenada to get food as good and authentic as TBE.
