This restaurant is a favorite of locals and weekend bikers. It sits on the water at the Carquinez Straight where you can watch the ships go by and the fishermen come in. The wait-staff are not deferential, but they're not rude, either. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is all about the sun and what's going on the shipping lane. The deck seating is a wonderful place to spend a sunny afternoon with family -- children included! I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. As for the salads being small... well, I ordered steamed clams and my boyfriend the shrimp melt and both dishes were of adequate size and very tasty. I recommend the Nantucket for sunny afternoon lunches on the deck.
