their ambience isn't quite as cool as a few other places, but these people are serious about coffee. they pull shots correctly, and the flavor shows. its so sad that people in seattle have been trained to think starbucks actually knows how to make a good cup of coffee. starbucks knows how to burn a good cup of coffee. go to ladro--a local independent gem! (and no, i don't work for them).
