The place is a magnet for the wannabe cool- they hope that the coolness leftover from the few and far-between (in Houston, at least) ""who's-who""s will rub off on them. What they have is more money than taste, and I do not limit this reference to the tastebuds.
Bamboo shoots do not a chinese dish make. The food was overpriced and mediocre, and I've given the restaurant several tries. The ambience is snooty and quasi-chic, and the service is tepid.
