I went to Seattle to live it up during July as a local. I didn't want to see the space needle and I didn't want to do all the other tourist things.
I wanted to catch a band at a dive bar and drink cheap beer.
I wanted to shop at the consignment and thrift shops all over Seattle and drink some good coffee.
I went to the gaslamp park to watch the fireworks with the hotel blanket and pillows in my backpack.
I ate at Beth's Cafe two nights in a row because we were hungry. In the middle of the night, nothing sounds better than some breakfast food. Real butter and a generous serving of whip cream from a can...we are definitely there. We were there for the thick-as-can-be milkshakes and the corn beef hash. I am a hash lover...yes I am.
Eat till you are sick and to satisfy that midnight crave.
Don't forget about the all-you-can-eat hash browns...which we never seemed to ask for. The servings are so generous and more than enough.
You'd even feel guilty for not being able to finish the toast.
We loved loved this place and wished there was a comparable place in nyc...but nothing comes close.
I guess all the drawings tacked on the walls support the love of the locals.
