The food is good. I love the clam chowder. The rest is on automatic pilot. We have gone in when few tables had diners. Waited forever to be seated. They explained that they did not want to seat us so that we would get excellent service when seated. Go figure. They wouldn't explain that their few servers were busy, then put us at a table and serve us water and drinks.
Our neighbors feel about the way we do about this restaurant. It's an easy place to go, and the rest is down hill. I'm not sure why we occasionally go back. It must be the chowder. And that we have lowered our expectations.

As for all of you that eat at Marie Callender's: Please be wear! I am a former employee of the place and if people knew what went on here; it would go out of business fast! Marie Callender's has a huge rat problem that has not been solved for years. Last winter a rat actually got crushed by a machine that mixes the pie crust. A women came in crying saying she opened her pie box and found pieces of a rat! It was reported and the restaurant handled the situation. I went in a few days ago and was shocked to find rat droppings in my water cup! Employees there hind the situation, but on many occasions guests have seen the rats and mice running around under the tables! Please do not eat here!!!
