I have eaten at this place many times for lunch over the past year. They did not have any lunch portions last year around this time but they introduced them last spring and they are perfect. It was a bit overwhelming portion sizes in the past. It is very good value for the money. Full dinner size portions of entrees cost you no more than $15-16.
My favorite dishes are beef koobideh and marinated chicken shish kabob. They come served over huge bed of saffron rice. If you are gtting the dinner portion, you can ask for half rice half salad and their specialty salad-shirazi is very good with finely chopped greens and cucumbers in vinegar, lemon and oil brine.
As a starter, you get a plat of cut-up flatbred called "lavash" accompanied by butter, fresh picked herbs, turnip and white onions. Go easy with the starter plate if you want to enjoy your main dish.
Also for a small fee of $2 or so, you can ask for your saffron rice to be substituted with the rice with berries in it and it is a real good value for that $2 in my honest opinion.
Try them. You will not be disappointed.
