I've had great success coming here at 9:15 on a Sunday morning, even though the dining room is already quite crowded I've had parties of 5 or more seated within a minute or two. Compare that to coming here around 10:30 or later where you'll see the wait times soar past 2 hours! The waitstaff for the mostpart doesn't seem to speak English, but that doesn't matter because you mainly just nod or shake your head at the variety of dim sum brought out on different trays. Contrary to popular belief, there are carts here as well, for their fancier offerings. I have to point out their shrimp-stuffed crab claw as their best dim sum, and their spicy noodles are insane, too. Some of their fried dumplings can be a bit greasy, and the steamed dumplings tend to stick together, but overall the quality is just amazing, considering the sheer volume of people they serve every hour. I feel it's unfair of some to say that the wait times are too long; every popular place is like that--be smarter about the time you're here and you'll have a great experience. In any event, this is not the type of place you swing by before trying to catch a movie or a flight. Take your time, enjoy the environment, and savor the many different types of dim sum. Also be sure to check out their dessert dim sum; their black bean sesame dumplings are out of this world, and there's a cream puff that's coated in granulated sugar that has the outward appearance of a rather large donut hole, but inside the cream is blended with the dough, making for one of the best desserts I've ever had--if not a bit too sweet.
Pros: excellent dim sum, can seat a party of hundreds
Cons: occasional linguistic problems, no reservations for breakfast

I like Joe's. I've been going there many years from the days when I worked at Green & Kauffman Real Estate nearby. My favorite dish is the -roast beef served with spaghetti. There are 3 sections where you can eat, the front with booths and tables, the counter where you can watch the cooks work and the back room. The backroom has fish tanks and was decorated in the old world style until a few years ago when it was brighted up and the windows let in light from overhead. I miss the old style and preferred the quiet atmosphere.
The waiters are old timers. Even the young fellows are old timers. The customers are old timers. Look in the parking lot and you will see big cars, cadillacs, big American cars. They are the plumbers, electricians, retired civil servants with money who come to Joes during the day time and sometimes early evening. The waiters may appear rude. I attribute this to the fact that they take customer orders and do so with efficiency. There are no smiles, or questions or introductions or telling you that the bus boy is their significant other as was so popular about 10 years ago. I think the customers, including myself like this type service. No nonsense, take the order and bring it, make return visits to the table and ask the customers how things are. They do show impatience that I have witnessed and that is directed at customers who have to read every line on the menu and discuss who is going to have what.
I do not like the salad as it is a strange mixture of cold vegetables. The pastine soup is so-so and not worth the price. Order beef, a steak , osso busco, pasta, deep fried potatoes, enjoy the italian bread and butter. The cocktails are fine, not expensive, the bar is nice and quiet. If you are out for a typical San Francisco Delfina's type evening, this is not the place for you. I am amazed at some of the reviews I have read. At one time, maybe even still Joe's was listed as being among the top most successful continous restaurants in California. The bad reviews are fun to read but don't say much.
Pros: Good Food and Service
Cons: They keep raising the prices

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are DELICIOUS and definitely live up to the hype. They are always fresh (you can literally see them being made behind a glass wall), flaky, sweet, airy, and basically heaven on earth. The selection is great: glazed, cream-filled, berry-filled, powdered, chocolate, sprinkled, you name it. Also, they are pretty cheap. This Daly City location has several tables, is easy to park in, and has a quick-moving line - also, I'm not sure if they still do this, but they used to give out FREE glazed doughnuts to people waiting in line! In N Out is next door if you want to really make an unhealthy night of it.
Pros: mmm doughnuts
Cons: location is right on a freeway, so ambience is lacking

My expectations were exceeded. A avid restaurant goer since age 9 I know what kind of restaurants I like and what to look for. Some people don't like crowds, but don't discount the restaurant for them! Crowds means the place must be good for some reason right? And Banana Island was definitely crowded. We had to wait twenty minutes for our party of 8 but it was well worth it. The food comes out FAST, so be ready. Good, good, good! It's not too salty or gloopy (full of corn starch) like many asian cuisine restaurants' food can be. The desserts were ethereal! Ask about a mountain shaped cone of shaved ice and syrups - to die for. The, what's it called....roti? with whipped cream and strawberries was also delish.
The place is also beautiful, clean, and for every demographic.
Parking was easy to find too...that is, if you don't mind a little five minute walk!
Definitely call before going to reserve a spot though, as I said, it's crowded.

I'm always hesitant to go to Mexican restaurants seeing as its hard to beat my grandmothers authentic Mexican food. But boy, was I glad I did. The food is magnificent and the service unsurpassed. Not to mention the wide array of different drinks and tequila's available in a lively bar. Whether it's a family dinner or a first date, this place is suitable for any occasion. I highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and friendly service.. Just don't tell my grandma!
Pros: Authentic Cuisine, Service

I love Todai even though I've been there only once (if i lived closer, i'd be there all the time). Their sushi bar is unbelievable (it's so huge). That was the first time I actually tasted sushi and liked it. I love their California rolls and Philadelphia rolls (plus they make everything right in front of you). Next, I went to the main course place where their seafood, fried rice, and noodles were awesome. I can't forget the egg rolls. One mistake you can easily make at Todai is not leaving enough room in your stomach for the crepe and dessert bar. They make the crepes right in front of you and you have a variety of toppings to choose from. The dessert bar - well that's a whole different story. I seriously felt like I was in Paris standing in front of that bar. It's like too good to eat all those yummy cakes.

I have used these guys before. As expected, just like the last time the carpet is very clean. Luis (their cleaner) did a great job, and took time to get out some long time traffic patterns. We are very pleased with the results.
