West Chester Animal Hospital

A few years ago I took my cat in to have her teeth cleaned. Before I dropped her off I told them to let me handle her when I return. They said ok. Even if she's disoriented recovering from anesthesia she'd recognize my voice and be ok. I did this before when I took her elsewhere. When I returned a woman bragged she had to hit my cat because she snapped at her when she went to pick her up to get her to bring to me. I was livid! more

We moved from another state and finding this group has been great. Dr. Perkins has given our 12 year-old collie caring, effective treatment.\r \r The on-site groomer is excellent, and the boarding has worked out well for us. I like the fact you can pick up 7 days a week. I find the negative reviews about a particular receptionist surprising. There are 3 -4 women greeting people and answering phones - I haven't yet met a rude one. (Maybe she's gone)\r \r Best part though has been good veterinary care and symptom management for our elderly dog. Highly recommended. more

Turned us away as new clients for boarding because they are "saving" the last few spots for clients they have had for "years, and years, and years." They also say that for holiday weekends, people book 3 weeks in advance. If this is the case, it would appear that no one is going to need those precious few spots that remain open (as the holiday in question is next week). So, they turn away a potential new client who would love to come for years and years and years in the hopes of filling the last few spots with people who most likely have already made arrangements. I wonder if the owners know how awful their receptionist is? Here's hoping! Now we will not use this vet for any of our pet's needs. And, I will make sure to mention this to my moms group. This is a great facility. A bit complicated to get to with all the new construction but a good vet. They give us reasonable rescue rates and are always willing to acomodate a emergency appointment. more

I have been taking my animals to this vet for over 15 years! It's sad to see that the other reviews seem to focus on a less than friendly receptionist. The vets are kind and understanding! i have never had a bad experience and my dogs are in great hands there! i HIGHLY recommend this vet! Pros: friendly vets, straight forward, kind Cons: distance! The vets are great, but Christine is the rudest, most condescending staff ""person"" I have ever encountered. She has displayed inappropriate behaviour not only to pet owners (CLIENTS), but also to her co-workers. Graciousness and eye contact are skills unknown to her and it would make the entire experience at this facility 1000% better if she were ordered to take a customer-service course or work in another position that does not require people skills or sensitivity. more

I have used this facility for 30+ years. They are very good at squeezing me in when I have an emergency, calling back promply when necessary, and the quality of care is top rate. we have seen all four vets in the practice, and although Dr Perkins is far and away our favorite, all of them are competent, caring and professional. This is the ONLY place I will board my dog, who suffers from separation anxiety. Their rates are reasonable and they offer a multi-pet discount. more

Friendly and caring. It doesn't matter what time you call they are always friendly when they talk to you.They always answer all my question and our dogs love them. more

These are wonderful, knowledgeable, caring doctors and staff. We are always greeted in a friendly and professional way, never have to wait long to see the doctors, and always receive compassionate, competent care. I would not entrust the health and care of my dogs to anyone else. The facility is immaculately clean and Dr. Molly Foley is top-notch, rendering exceptional care to my 2 Pugs. They love her and so do I. more

We have had very consistent reliable and compassionate care from Dr Perkins at this facility for ten years. When we bring our dog, we meet many satisfied families. The boarding and grooming services are competitively priced. When our dog has needed emergency help, they are seen promptly and the vet is completely transparent on costs for care. more

We run a rescue group that is always looking for quality medical facilities and had actually gotten a dog from this place some years back. That exchange went well and we've since attempted to try and form a working relationship with them as we take in and adopt out almost 200 dogs a year. We were told that they already work with a few rescue groups and can't handle any more. What? We didn't even ask for a discount or anything like that, but they must be so busy that they don't need any new business. Oh well, the other area vets are benefiting from their decision. more

I totally agree with Joel1408. I stopped by to inquirer about boarding services. She dismissed me by saying that services were only reserved for current clients...as if this was a pet resort! Don't know why the doctors keep her...RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Its unfortunate that I must write a below average review for this facility based solely on the receptionist. She began to insult my dogs and myself to another employee when she thought I could?nt hear her. She then proceeded to talk to me very cordially as if I didn?t hear her conversation. She showed no remorse and gave no signs of an apology even after I informed her that I overheard her remarks. I cancelled my appointment and will not be going there anytime soon. This was only a second follow-up appointment to recheck my new 6 month old dogs for kennel cough. I did nothing to warrant the slander. I believe the newer facility presents a false sense of security and staff professionalism. I believe The West Chester Animal Hospital facility has a unwritten ?Quantity-over-Quality? service policy. I don?t understand how an animal facility can employee a person with such a negative attitude.\r I?m giving then two stars only because they treated my previous dog for 7 years withou more

They are the best vets in chester county!!! My 12 yr. old purebred cat developed severe diabetis and high liver functions temp uti ect.Most vets would have sad give up.Not these guys they saved my cats life with tests antibiotics iv,s insulin ect.My precious cat tootser stayed 5 days and came home like new.I cannot thank them enough for saving his life.They are very reasonable with prices and the best with care!!!!!!!
