I have been a patient with TFPC for 15 years. When Ellen Martin left, I thought there could be no one to replace her. I was wrong. I have loved my care at every turn my life takes me with the staff. My family doc is Kathi Savatini and I love her. She always takes good care of me and if there is a concern, she calls me personally! There aren't too many places that will do that. If she is not available, I have also received excellent care from Dr. Ortega who is a real gem also.. This place is worth waiting for, even if you do have to wait a few minutes in the lobby! My family is new in the Thurston County area. Dr. Kuo, and the staff at TFPC is a blessing straight from heaven. Dr. Kuo is the most compassionate, patient and kind Physician I have ever seen, and my husband echoes that sentiment..I can actually get him to go to the doctor now that we have someone with such a great bedside manner. We have never been treated with anything but respect and the clinic has been very accommodating about getting us in with another provider if Dr. Kuo is not immediately available. Although the wait is typically longer than I would like, I feel it is paid back tenfold with the amount of time Dr. Kuo spends listening and educating me during MY time with him. I have NEVER felt rushed, disrespected or put off, in fact, the opposite is true. The Individuals who have shared criticisms about the Tumwater Family Practice Clinic appear to have had limited experience with the clinic. I am a 42 year resident of Thurston County WA, and a 31 year resident of Tumwater. Every member of my family (5 children, now grown, my spouse, and myself) have been patients of this clinic, and it's varied physicians and assistants, since the day it opened. Remarkably my family has managed to receive excellent health care and advice over the years, and have had only to deal with minor delays with appointments, and occasional delays in feedback to the pharmacy regarding prescriptions. Tumwater is extremely lucky to have a primary care clinic of this caliber. I travel all across the Western half of the United States, and have visited towns twice the size of Tumwater, with little or no options for primary care, outside of a 45+ minute drive to the next town, or emergency room. wow. I was so surprised to read the negative experiences. i see dr duncan and have loved him. he listens, has a great bedside manner. i have only had to wait a long time once, and they apologized, but had a serious case walkin. i have not seen any other docs just duncan and his pa, who was also wonderful. i had a car accident and they followed up on paperwork immediately. We are 20+ year patients. Couldn't be happier with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff. Also feel that they really care about our well being and are interested in their patients as people, instead of just another case to get through, which I have felt at other clinics. Our primary care provider and nurse, as well as others we've seen over the years, are tops in our book. more

I (and my family) have been going to TFPC for many years and we continue to go there even after we've moved 300 miles away! I am over 60, have seen many doctors in my life, and this group is the best. I recently had an emergency that hit me on a weekend, and I got an immediate response and help when I very much needed someone to take charge and see that I was cared for. Things turned out fine for me, thanks to TFPC's competence and vigilance.\r \r I could go on and on with family examples, but I won't. Boy, did this place misdiagnose my mother in law. In 2007 she had been going there for over 6 weeks complaining about indigestion and when she finally went to the hospital she found out that she had several heart attacks. We lost Mom 8 days later!! more

I've found that TFPC is professional, courteous, considerate of your time in the office, offers extremely easy access. They also know their business and will talk to you and listen too.\r \r I've had problems with their Fax procedure but have insisted on having them write me the perscriptions and I hand deliver it to my pharmacy. Problem solved.\r \r They've been considerate of my peace of mind by coordinating all of my perscriptions so that they can be renewed at the same date.\r \r I've created a medication list for myself and shared that with my PA as part of our partnership.\r \r Using the internet I've found out about my medical problems and with their help have gotten my employer to reasonably accomodate me in my scheduling needs.\r \r I've rarely waited more than 5 minutes in their waiting room and always get an appology if it is less that immediate service.\r \r I've grown up with old time doctor's offices, military offices, group health and am very appreciative of the excellent performanc more

We just moved here from Spokane and the clinic was close to our home. When I called them, before they asked my name or what was wrong, they asked me: What insurance I had! When I told the receptionist, she said, "Yeah, your okay, we take that one." If I hadn't been desperate to see someone that weekend, I would have hung up. My PA was professional but very busy and didn't take much time listening. She sent me off with pills I didn't feel I needed and a request for blood work. I went there because my orthopedic surgeon was concerned I might be having small strokes. Needless to say, I took Monday off and went to another doctor, who ordered a CATT scan. Guess what. I was having small strokes. Scarry? Go there with a cold. more

I have to agree with some of the things the first poster complained about, such as having to call over and over again about something that should have been done. I also must say this is a very busy office, and I have found the staff to be very friendly. My provider although it seems she couldn't wait to get out of the room during one visit, I felt she was caring.However, I am appalled to hear about the awful privacy violations!!! I was going to make an appointment for an office visit tomorrow, and did a google to find their number. While on hold with their office, I started reading the reviews. I immediately hung up and decided to find another provider. I used to work as a nurse for over 25 years, and I hold the privacy of others to a very high standard. This kind of unprofessional behavior is a very big issue, and I will not take a chance on whether this did or did not happen. I intend to find another provider asap! more

This most unprofessional, incompetent health care? This was the most unreliable health care I have ever witnessed... and I work in a hospital; so I see the bad. After the doctor prescribes your medication, be prepared to call numerous times to remind them to call/fax it in to the pharmacy. This happened four times in three months. They forget to send it in, and then laugh as if it's funny to wait at a pharmacy over an hour for something that should have been sent two hours ago. I understand that people make mistakes but FOUR times! Don't expect them to do their job, you have to constantly check up to make sure things were sent in, which they never are. The nurses of the physicians are a joke and think their mistakes are funny, when really the joke is on the patient. On one occasion, I was being seen during the extended hours, they thought that it being late they could rule out professionalism. Tumwater Family Practice came highly recommended to me when I moved to Olympia. The facility is newer and has at least eight doctors, I think more than that. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You never have to wait very long for your appointment, and the waiting area is huge!! It even has a nice play area for the kiddos.\r \r My LPN was excellent. She was very caring and worked with me whenever I needed something. She was very down-to-earth and never chastised me for "bad behavior".\r \r I loved this doctor... I only hope I can find something similiar in my new state. more
