What customer service? 7/22/2011

What customer service? They never answer their phone nor e-mail. What is the point of trying to schedule the appointment via e-mail when no one ever answers? it takes days chasing anyone there and once someone decides to answer they tell you that the person you are looking for is out and you need to call back. Place looks cute but the service is far from it. Going elsewhere where I might spend some more money but at least will have a person answer the phone more

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE 12/1/2010

I had a similar experience as “ClassicHippie”. My husband gave me a gift certificate for massage and facial last year for my B’day. I couldn’t use the certificate coz I was pregnant. So, I decided to call them. The certificate that my husband gave me worth $140, which included 60 minutes massage and 30 minutes facial. Apparently, the person who used to do this no longer works there so they had a hard time scheduling an appointment. I had to call them 10 times and left several messages. Finally, I got an appointment which is 2 months from my last call. Wish I could get my money back and go elsewhere. If I were you reading this, please go somewhere else who would treat you kindly as a customer. more

Buyer Beware 4/1/2010

It was hard to even make an appt, changed policies about redeeming gift certificates, but it is nowhere in writing, got bruised from waxing, massage was shorted by 15 minutes, allergic reaction from facial, and then still wanted to get paid for it. I had a good experience here before, but I don't know that I'll be back again after this last one. Pros: Affordable, fast waxing, decent massage Cons: Unwritten policies, shortened massage, hard to make appt. more

absolutely wonderful 4/6/2009

I loved my visit to Total Body Care. It's one of those rare gems that are getting harder and harder to find. To start - this place is completely "home-spun charm". You won't get an ounce of manufactured or commercial feel from Total Body Care - which is so refreshing. In fact- I got the impression that this place is owned and operated by a couple girls who do the treatments themselves along with a very small staff they've hand selected to work with them. The inside is very comfortable and inviting - there is not even a hint of pretentiousness to this cute little place. I brought my sister for her b'day and I'm so glad I did. I chose TBC over another fancier local spa because I wanted the day to be about my sister - not about the spa we went to. The staff at TBC are so friendly that they make you feel like a guest in their home. In lieu of a receptionist - one of the staff members greeted us and poured us each a glass of their "home made" sangria! Another girl had put out a batch of cupcakes she made for clients to enjoy that day -- both fabulous by the way! They made us feel like they were there solely for us. I had a massage and my sister had a facial. She loved her facial and my massage was to die for! As went got in the car - my sister told me it was the best birthday gift she'd ever received because she felt special. I will be recommending this place to all my friends and already booked myself another appointment. If you're looking for outstanding customer service, a fabulous menu of services and a place you'll want to visit regularly w/o breaking the bank -Total Body Care is the place for you! Pros: great prices, great service Cons: none that I can report more

TOTAL BODY CARE - WHERE A ONE HOUR MASSAGE IS 60 MINUTES - NOT 50! YAY! 12/6/2008

I love going to spas and when I travel I try to visit at least one every time so I've been to quite a few. I had often questioned the fact that in the spa world - a one hour massage really means 50 minutes (sometimes 45). But I accepted it because every single place I've ever been to - regardless of price - does this same sort of misleading thing. I understood the reason for it to be so that the staff can set up for the next client. Oh well, I guess we pay for that prep time for the next guy. Then I happened into TOTAL BODY CARE and FINALLY! THE FIRST PLACE THAT DID NOT SHORT MY 60 MIN. MASSAGE!! I always turn my ringer off just before I get on the table so I always know what time it is, and I turn it back on immediately after. My massage was so fantastic - I was wishing for more time when it was over - I looked at my phone and was shocked!! My therapist had actually gone 5 MIN. OVER THE HOUR! Just to make sure - I asked her if she went over the hour and she replied casually that she had just a little and hoped she wasn't making me run late! HA! I LOVE IT! I then asked if a one hour massage was 50 minutes and she again responded casually "no, we always do a full hour. Whatever the service is, we do the full time and often go over." I then asked how they do that and still have time to set up for the next client? She said they just don't book clients back to back. WHAT A CONCEPT! I am not wasting my money anymore at places that short my time just to squeeze in more clients. This is about relaxation and I need every minute I'm paying for! TOTAL BODY CARE IS ABSOLUTELY WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! Charming, cozy, relaxing and above all - QUALITY! A++++++++ Pros: great atmosphere, great value, excellent quality of service Cons: you might miss it if you're not looking for it more

First Impressionas are VERY Important!!!!! 10/22/2008

I received a gift certificate and called to ask a few questions. No one answered the phone and I wasn't able to leave a message (at the time I called). I decided that they must have been very buy and I stopped by after work at 4:00 pm. No one was at the front desk/ reception area. There wasn't a bell or anything to ring to indicate that there was someone waiting up front that needed help. I waited for 15 minutes figuring that maybe someone was using the restroom or on a break. Someone finally appeared around 4:15 and asked if I had an appointment. I said no. She said "what can I help you with then". I told her that I heard about them and that I have never been there before and just had some questions about massages and services. She told me that they had no receptionist and that each person who worked there handled their own clients and since I was interested in massage I'd have to call and talk to one of the massage therapists, she only did hair removal and didn't know anything about massage services. Bottom line was that had I known there wasn't a receptionist and that no one would be able to help me I wouldn't have wasted 30 minutes out of my day just to be told that I'd have to call again and leave a message for someone else. A SIMPLE SIGN WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL. I have NO idea how the services. I never really got any information (I was able to get a spa menu that listed price/treatments, but you can also get info off their website) just know that if you'd like information- to call and leave message(s) and maybe you'll get the info that way. At least it will save you a trip going to the location. If a spa/salon can't even put up a sign to notify new clients that they should call first to obtain information...... it speaks volumes to me about the professionalism of the entire establishment. I'd rather spend double and go to Spa Gregories or Burke Williams- at least someone will talk to me and treat me with respect when I walk in. Pros: None that I was exposed to. Cons: Read description below. more
