Toby's School Of Dance is a great dance studio 11/18/2009

This great dance studio has been in existence for many years in Richardson, and has given many people a solid dance background. When in high school, my daughter and a group of her friends enjoyed taking swing dance lessons here-what fun they had at the next school dance. The studio was very accomodating! more

. Ballet - Participation As a Student is An Exciting Artistic Experience. The Result of Proper Ballet Training is a Beautiful,Strong, and Healthy Body,Which Includes the Development of Good Posture,Grace, and Poise. The Self-discipline Learned in Ballet Class Can Help Your Child to Succeed in All Undertakings. A Qualified and Well Trained Faculty and Individual Attention to Each Student's Technical or Physical Problems Assure Your Child the Maximum Opportunity for Progress. At the Pre-school Level Ballet is Given in Combination with Tap and Gymnastics. After Age 7 Twice-a-week Classes are Strongly Recommended. For Pointe,Twice A-week Classes are Required and Three-times-a-week is Recommended. Students Will Not Go on Pointe Until Age 11-12,and Then Only When the Teacher Feels that Their Legs are Strong Enough and Their Bodies are Properly Placed. Ballet is the Background and Basis for All Dance and Should Be Studied First or Along with Other Forms of Dance.

Jazz - It is More Free,More Rhythmic,More Emotional Than Modern Dance,Less Restricted,Less Classical Less Academic Than Ballet. It Draws on All Other Forms of the Dance Technique,Blending Then in Clean,Rhythmic,Un-wasted Movement. Age 6 is the Minimum Age for Jazz. Before that Age,Ballet and Tap Form a Good Background for the Eventual Study of Jazz. It is Recommended that Ballet Be Studied Preceding or Along with Jazz.

Tap - The Quickest and Surest Way of Developing Coordination and Rhythmic Ability.
