Valet are thieves 4/4/2012

My Business partner and I arrived at Cheesecake Factory on Saturday night March 31st , 30 minutes apart. Upon leaving we both noticed items missing from our cars. He called me and told me all his Charging cords and connection cables were stolen so his phone would go dead shortly. When I headed home , I noticed that my GPS was missing. I am sure that we are not the only ones violated on Saturday night. Because as I said , we arrived 30 minutes apart from each other. Very Disappointing. As our total dining experience cost us several hundreds of dollars plus the inconvenience of replacing the missing items, I will NEVER return to this location again. more

Kids at the bar? Really? 2/1/2011

I love this location of the Cheesecake Factory, even if their food and approach isn't really my thing. The staff is ultra-professional. The outdoor patio -- the area for drinks by the beach with Tiki torches -- is fantastic! I love coming here on a Saturday afternoon with girlfriends and watching people and boats from the beach. However, tonight I went in for an appetizer and glass of wine, and instead of an adult experience at the bar, I was surrounded by small children on bar stools -- some as young as four. It was absolutely ridiculous. With a gorgeous beach outside and an open-seating patio ON THE BEACH why in God's name would they encourage a large family with kids to sit at the bar and ruin everyone else's experience? The kids looked pretty miserable too. I won't go back in the evening with all the bar options in the area. Just don't need my bar experience to be Romper Room. I must say the lettuce wrap appetizer, although there was nothing unhygenic about it, is almost impossible to negotiate with huge, stiff veggies and lettuce leaves that are totally un-bendable. You can kinda eat each piece separately, but it's a big job and not worth the effort. more

Went to this location 2 nights in a row :) 5/14/2010

We went on Monday night had a rather nice dinner our standard Chicken thai Lettuce Wraps which are always the BOMB those 3 sauces are yummy. I had a Irish Nut (humph! trying to warm my brown arse up!) The boyfriend had a wonderful concoction called ""The Blackjack"" it was good.\r \r This place is about 200 yards away from the front door of the Marina Del Rey Marriott so if you stay at the hotel and do not wish to partake of the hotel restaurant seek what is tried and true. Nice view of the Marina and they have plenty of heaters outside. \r \r On the second night the service SUCKED! I ordered the Wild Mushroom soup which was okay and my boyfriend got the Eggplant Sandwich which turned out to be delicious but BLOODY HELL we waited for (what felt like) a half an hour outside in the misting dew while I counted no more than 10 tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Okay and why was there like 20 servers on that night.... it was late after 9:00pm hmmm something that my food & beverage manager/mind wonders about from time to time. Anyhoo when our server returned to us we just told her to wrap it up and we'd take it home... no need to continue to freeze AND be hungry LOL\r \r ps. The manager did come over to see explain that the Eggplant takes longer to grill as it is freshly cut and made (sigh) you know as a former food server I can honestly say I was more on the side of TMI for my guests because it would probably effect my tip otherwise... \r \r Respectfully Reviewed Pros: Great Marina view, Consistent Recipes, Plenty of heaters Cons: Service was inconsistent more

A bad Experience !!! 5/3/2010

I'm a big fan of cheesecake factory and I have been to over 5 branches in the past 16 years. But this time I went to the one on Marina Del Rey, CA and I was so not happy!\r The kids drinks were forgotten, the bread and butter as well and I had to remind the waitress more than 2 times! Finally the food arrives and still no kids drinks or bread! \r In the middle of the meal, the hostes brought us Ice Cream we did not ask for so the kids left the food of course and started crying over the ice cream that we did not order! I told her we did not order it so she was looking around to see who ordered it and the other group on table 55 I beleive shouted to her to deliver it!!\r I do not think I will go there again even though I love Cheesecake factory and this location as well.\r Sorry.. Pros: Service & food !! Cons: I was disapointed! more

great food, large portions, a place we can all agree on 12/10/2008

We love the Cheeesecake Factory. Nice view of the Marina and we can always find something we like to eat. Always save room for a slice of cheesecake.Parking is only valet and it can get pretty crowded for dinner with long waits. Pros: good food.good selection Cons: valet parking only. sometimes too crowded. more

Good Food! 10/21/2007

The food here is always good and the portions are always large. This place is always packed and most time you'll have to wait from 20-40min before being seated - Especially the Weekends - this place is packed! Valet is required - $4.00 now. Ask to be seated outside so that you can enjoy the view of the marina. Needless to say the cheescake is amazing. I have yet to have a bad experience here and we have been eating at this spot for 3 years. more

Great view, Great Service, and Good Food 5/15/2007

I really like the Cheesecake Factory in the Marina. The patio is beautiful with views of the water. Our waitress the last time we were there was the best. She was super friendly. Their food here is much more consistant than that of the Brentwood chain. This is definitely a go to place. Pros: good food, great service, views of the water Cons: valet parking only...adds another $5 plus tip to your bill more

Monday night blues 2/7/2007

I'll be honest by saying I'm optimistic when it comes to trying a new restaurant. This was my first time at The Cheesecake Factory and I was hoping for a more pleasant experience, especially on a Monday evening when it's not too busy. However, the receptionist had seated us at a section where the waiter was on break. So, we waited for nearly 15 minutes before a waiter had finally come to our table only to be replaced by the original waiter coming back from their break. It took about 50 minutes before getting our food and the place was not that busy. I've been told they have great food, but it seemed average for this type of restaurant. The shrimp with angel hair pasta was great, but the fish tacos was smothered with too much shredded cabbage. Although, I was impressed at their huge menu selection. Granted our waiter was apologetic and did a great job, the managerial structure was clearly out of sync. The food is great, but avoid Monday nights. Pros: Thumbs up for the garlic shrimp with angel hair pasta. Cons: Thumbs down for the managerial sector of the restaurant. more

Beautiful view! 11/21/2006

Like other restaurants in the marina, this Cheesecake Factory is perhaps nicer than it's chain status would normally allow. Their service is good and they have a valet out front. Cons: valet more

Great Breakfast After Church 11/16/2006

One of my favorite places to go for breakfast after an early church service in West LA. They serve great eggs benedict and the staff has always been friendly. We sit out back on the patio on nice days and look at the boats and yachts in the marina. The food is consistantly good. Pros: Good Food Cons: Popular, so come early, and eat outside if possible. It gets crowded and noisy. more

Good place, Long waits, Avoid Peak hours 11/15/2006

Great design, Great staff and atmosphere. As you walk in to this place, you can't help to notice the detail and effort in building this place. Staff is great, however do NOT go during peak hours. Service great off peak hours, absolutely horrible during peak hours. I didn't get my food comped after waiting two hours of waiting. Server ignored it and didn't even notify manager. Food is decadent and great portions. Pros: Goo Place, Long w more

When all else fails... 9/19/2006

I have always had great experiences here as well as their location at The Grove. Service has always been fast and friendly. The atmosphere at the Marina location is great! I consider this a multi-purpose restaurant. Its great for first dates, birthdays, graduation parties or just a night out with the girls. So when all else fails, you can't go wrong with this place. I have been dining here for 12 years. My favorite: Spicy Cashew Chicken more

Great! 7/13/2005

The Cheesecake Factory is a great restaurant. But when it's on the marina it's even better! The smooth atmosphere combined with great food makes it a romantic getaway! If you want a good meal any night come to this exact location. Also beware lines can be long! Pros: Valet Parking, Beautiful Views, Great Service Cons: Long lines, Most seating inside more

Why bother? 8/13/2004

Such an enigma. The Cheesecake Factory's overpriced food is fussy, greasy, salty, and just a half-step above other chain restaurants. Don't be distracted by that lengthy menu; all the cheesecakes taste frozen and you'd be better off staying home and eating Sara Lee instead. In the face of massive crowds, the service is friendly and efficient, so I can't rag on that. Take your out-of-town yokel relatives here; they'll enjoy it. Pros: Service Cons: , Icky, Crowded more

Tasty food and a divine setting 8/5/2002

The portions here are HUGE. Don't think that you'll have room for chessecake if you order an entree. The chessecake is quite pricy but melt-in-your-mouth creamy. Sit outside -- the restaurant is located right on the Marina, and the view is magnificent. I've been numerous times and never sat inside. It can be chilly at night, but there are several heaters to help out. Very romantic. While the waits can be long, they are usually shorter if you request to sit outdoors. Pros: location Cons: valet parking, long waits more

cheesy and costly 7/24/2002

I've been a Cheesecake Factory three times (never by choice...always a birthday, etc.) and still don't get why there's always a line there. The food truly sucks and the decor always reminds me of an upscale Denny's. Actually, I would prefer to dine at Denny's. At least my food would be comparable to the amount I paid. more

Cheesecake 7/23/2002

Love the atmophere. The food is so-so. The prices could be a little lower. The service is pretty good. Pros: Ambience Cons: Price more

In Addition to the Cheescake.. 7/22/2002

The portions are huge and offset the price nicely. A huge variety, in fact, it is sometimes difficult to choose! Excellent atmosphere for groups or parties, fun staff. If you know when to go, you can be seated right away. If you are going during prime time, be ready to wait..but the wait is well worth it! more

If you want plenty of food..... 7/11/2002

make sure you have plenty of time. The crowd speaks for the food, this restaurant serves everything and serves it well. Great place to come with a big group as you will find something for everyones taste. They give you large portions of food and I always have something to take home for another meal. The wait is the only thing that keeps me from coming back often. more
