Thanksgiving Point Easter a RIPOFF! 4/23/2011

We wanted our kids to enjoy nice Easter activities so we took them to TP Easter Extravaganza and it was a huge ripoff. -Extremely long lines. -Easter egg hunt just about killed a bunch of kids that got trampled in the mayhem. My kid came back crying twice because all the bigger kids outran him and got all the eggs, elbowed him out of the way and knocked his eggs out of his basket and took them. -Not near enough staff to keep the excessive crowds organized. -Poor quality activities for the kids and most had lines so long it wasn't worth waiting. -I assumed we would have access to the rest of the park (Tulip Festival) but not a chance without paying extra again. -Parking was crazy and there was no people to manage traffic and construction made things more difficult. -Chic-Fil-A sponsored some of it but all food coupons in the eggs and elsewhere were for the American Fork store only and we are from Ogden. Dumb move. Not only we we angry with TP but now with their sponsor too for being so short-sighted. -Poor quality food venders and long wait times anyway. It took 40 minutes for me to get some cotton candy for my kids. -I'm sure they made loads of money but should be ashamed of their exploitation of the kids and their families. -I'll not return to Thanksgiving point again and advise you not to either. more

Great place for kids 10/27/2005

The Barn at Thanksgiving Point is a great place to take kids. The admission is cheap, they even sell year passes so you can go again and again. The Barn offers a pony ride or hay ride with each admission and features a walk around style farm animal experience. They have cows, horses, plenty of chickens, turkeys, pigs, goats and more. The Barn is especially fun in the spring when all of the babies are being born. There is a small area for kids to play in a 1890's ish jail and dance hall and plenty of grass for picnic lunches. more

Golf, Shopping, Food, Etc 9/21/2005

Thanksgiving Point has grown to be quite a happening place! They have just about everything that you could need in one place. I've attented wedding receptions here that were beautiful. There is a kids dinosaur museum and the Imax and they have a few good restaurants as well. Not to mention the beautiful and expensive golf course that is located here! I enjoyed the experience there and it's a great place to take the family. more

This place is so much fun! 9/12/2005

Thanksgiving Point is amazing! There is something there for everyone. They have beautiful garderns to view, several stores, a soda fountain that serves the best hot fudge sundaes, a farm, a dinosaur museum (one of the best in the country), and a movie theater. There is a 4 star restaurant, and they provide full catering for events. You may rent out a garden or garden room for special events. There is also a golf course. You can't possibly do it all in one day. Be sure to check it out. It is right off of I-15 Alpine/Highland exit. What a wonderful place! more

Something for everyone! 9/12/2005

Thanksgiving Point has literally taken off overnight. It used to be just a few shops and a petting zoo, and the big attraction was to go look at the lights during the holidays. Now, they have several shops with a variety of unique gifts. There is a very classy restaurant. There is a petting zoo for the kids. There are beautiful gardens to tour. There is a dinosaur musem and IMAX theater and of course, the golf course. You can also take classes there on cooking or gardening. There is definitely something for everyone! The only downfall is the expense! Everything is very pricey! more

Fun Place to Find Something to Do or Walk Around and Enjoy the Grounds 9/8/2005

This is a fun place to just walk around and check out the random events they have going on or window shop. They have a variety of retail shops and restaurants that range in price/atmosphere. If you’re bored on a weekend or just need to get out of the house they have a variety of entertainment venues to choose from. There’s an IMAX movie screen, regular movie theatres, an extensive collection of dinosaur fossils and related material in their museum, indoor gardens and botanical gardens that are open seasonally, and a golf course. During the year they host a variety of concerts, dances for youth and singles, farming exhibits, bridal fairs, etc. They also have a corn maze in the fall around Halloween and at Christmas time they have a lights display that you can drive through. more

Interesting place to visit 8/3/2005

There's lots to do at Thanksgiving Point. There's golf, movie theaters, gardens, restaurants, shops, and a museum. They also have concerts The museum is quite nice...all about dinosaurs. I went with a paleontologist friend. We were able to see lots of dinosaur skeletons and representations of other animals and plants that lived during those times. They also have games and activities that children can participate in. We also saw an Imax movie...all about underwater volcanoes. They usually have 2-3 different movies available to watch. All in all, this is a good place to go for a date or just a fun activity. more

Thanksgiving Point Golf Course 8/1/2005

This course is a relatively recent addition to the selection of Utah County golf courses. Its location makes it easly accessible for Salt Lake county golfers as well. Jonny Miller designed, this course features length and more length, in addition to abundant sand traps, natural beauty, undulating greens, and a meandering river. It is a fairly difficult golf course to play but rewarding regardless of the final score on the scorecard. Several very scenic holes, immaculate grooming, a great driving range, and huge clubhouse create one of the best golfing experiences overall in all of Utah. The only downside is the cost, which will make it less accessible for the weekend golfer, but which is still within reason considering the quality of the overall experience and course. more
