Tenafly Pediatrics

I hate writing review but I had to express myself b/c of what this doctor did and I want ALL parents to beware:\r I have 3 kids I have been with Tenafly Pediatrics since my kids were babies. I have a great relationship will ALL the doctors since they Hired a Dr. Daniel Anderson (a newbie with no experiences) My son had a hard fall and scrapped & burned his thigh. I called the office right away. they advise me what to do. I have bought my son in the doctor's office the NEXT day as per request... our main doctor was not at the office. So Doctor Anderson saw my son. we told him what happened. He gave a cream medication and CALLED DYFS on us because he assumed we were abusive to our son. and since he did not know us... he wanted to PROTECT himself and his name. REALLY!!!!! I love my children. they are my life. We been coming to Tenafly for over 5 years. We know the staff, We know the doctors. I am shocked that he called us ADUSIVE. Now I have DYFS calling me, coming to my house like if we are criminals, questioning my son, my children & members of my family if we abusive to our children. Who is not going to protect our FAMILY NAME NOW! We are a family of God, We are good people. No OUR FAMILY NAME will be in the DYFS database for two years. Shame on you Dr. Anderson, ""you need to protect your name""....who told DYFS, he?s just doing his job............NO!! your just Racist. You saw a Latin Family, who told you the truth of what happened to our son and you didn?t believe a word of what we send. The Funny Part about this story... The Next day, Doctor Anderson called me personally to give me the heads up that he called DYFS and not to worry about it! my He did it b/c it?s the law and he had to protect his name.... When Dyfs show up, they said 'Why would the doctor call US for this""...my son had a really bad fall but it was not that extreme to call DYFS. To all my Parents out there... BEWARE OF DR DANILE ANDERSON. He will call DYFS on you if he does not know you, he will call DYFS is your child got hurt.... JUST TO PROTECT HIS NAME"" For the next TWO years, I will let all the parents know what you have done to my son and to our family.... you are the Abusive one DR. Anderson! you are! more

I've taken my 4 kids to Tenafly Pediatrics all their lives and have been very happy with the practice. They've made a lot of effort to keep their patients in touch with the latest -- monthly newsletters, being able to access my children's charts online, getting email reminders for appointments... plus Dr. Kim in Paramus is the best, she always makes me feel comfortable asking questions and is very patient with my anxiety whenever they get sick. I have been using this practice for over 8 years. I recommend them to all my friends. They are open on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. I always tell my friends to change doctors when they tell me there doctor is closed on sunday's and they spend there day in the ER or at a urgent care. That in itself is a reason to use tenafly pediatrics. They always fit you me in when my kids are sick. i may not always get there regular doctor but when they are sick any doctor is fine. We never feel rushed and my kids never give me a hard time about going to see the doctor. Awesome practice more

The medical staff is top notch but their front office staff is quite unresponsive, rude and difficult to work with. They often use excuses to requests of any kind, which then cause multiple calls and effect my work schedule. There is quite a gap in the service of the doctors to the front office. The inability to communicate or work with folks has caused quite a bit of unnecessary stress. This would be a top notch facility, if they had a front office staff that understood how to work with customers. more

My two brothers and I have been using Tenafly Pediatrics since we were kids. Now our 5 children use the practice. We love Tenafly Pediatrics! more

my experience with tenafly peds is the exact opposite. The staff is EXTREMELY rude and always rushing to get us out. The doctors are "ok"...i switched to a diff practice...smaller in number...madison ave peds in paramus...they are EXELLENT. I would like to add that tenafly peds misdiagnosed my daughter once that eventually brought her to the ER...and no one seemed to care. glad I left. more

I have been going to Tenafly Ped. For 6 years and have always gotten the best treatment. I really love every one at the practice. Everyone is wonderful and kind. I always recommend Tenafly to my friends and neighbors. more

I've had excellent experience with Tenafly Pediatrics. Although they are a large practice overall, the office locations I've gone to (Tenafly and Fort Lee) are not huge and I've found the staff to be friendly and helpful, especially when needing to make a sick visit. Although the staff do seem busy they are organized and I think it's great that I can go to either office and since my kids' charts are on their computers I know the doctor has my children's histories. Above all the doctors are top-knotch, and I can usually see Dr. Kim or Dr. Aranoff for my appointments. I tell all my friends about it, which is why I'm writing here. more

I've been with Tenafly Fort Lee for almost 3 years. Overall I like Tenafly's doctors and nurses but I hate feeling like cattle. Sometimes I feel like I have to BEG to have a doctor see my kids when they are ill. The office staff is very rude on the phone and they give you NO flexibility in scheduling with the doctors. I even told them I was moving out of the state and they would not give me an appointment. I guess they aren't motivated since they know I'm moving away. I'm hoping to find a less busy practice where they'll treat us like people and not another ear infection. more

We have been using the Clifton office for over 6 years now, first for my daughter and then for my son. Dr. Jawetz is a great doctor, he takes time to listen to your concerns and spends quality time with you. The practice takes decisions with highest ethics and with patient/parents interest in mind. We moved and tried another practice for our son and within a month went back to Tenafly pediatrics. In 6 years we have seen other Doctors and went to the Tenafly office few time, all of them are very good. \r The staff is excellent very friendly and always helpful with appointments. Will be using them for a long time. \r Highly recommended more

I took my two girls to Tenafly Pediatrics and was always pleased with the care they gave my two girls. Doctor Kim was my girls' pediatricians but sometimes when she's not available and my girls were sick, other doctor took care of them and they were knowledgeable and kind and caring. more

Great practice. Top notch doctors (education, demeanor, etc.). I have been going to them since my first was born 6 years ago. I now have 3 and they've always been responsive and professional. They also recommend excellent specialist when needed. Very convenient in terms an office always being open 7 days a week which helps avoid the ER!! Only negative is it's a very busy practice but they always get you in early for a sick child. Pros: Great office hours Cons: Occasional long waits during winter months more

Coming from the city, I needed to find a local practice with top quality doctors and a flare for service. Someone at work recommended Tenafly Pediatrics, so I went to their Paramus office and loved it. Large waiting rooms, a fish tank which kept my 3-year old entertained, and then a hilarious nurse gave me a great first impression. After meeting the doctor, though, I knew I made the right choice. I've been going there for 3 years and am consistently impressed by the care given by my child's primary doctor as well as the other doctors who saw my son while the other doctor was off. It took me by surprise when my doctor called up a few days after my son was seen for a sore throat, to find out how he was doing. That just showed it's possible to still get the personalized care these days. I'm expecting my second child now and it's nice to know I have a ""home"" for the medical care of my new baby. Pros: Great doctors and staff, convenient hours Cons: Need some books for kids in the waiting room (my 6 year old is a book freak!) more

I started using this group when I lived in Clifton, which there is an office there as well. Dr. Jawetz was kind and caring. When I moved I went to the Tenafly office and to my surprise Dr. Jawetz's wife works there. We started using her and she was wonderful too. I have seen other dr.'s in the office and they are just as nice and knowledgable. more

It was hard to say goodbye to my pediatrician in NYC and i was worried that I would not find someone as good to care for my toddler and infant. Boy was I wrong! I have been so pleased with my experience at Tenafly Pediatrics. Every doctor I have encountered has been knowledgeable, compassionate and engaging with my children. They have made a difficult transition very comfortable. I find the office to be very accessible on short notice with a doctor always available to see my children. Despite there being 15 doctors, I still find the office has a small practice feel to it. I was shocked to have my doctor call me the day after my toddler was sick to see how he was doing. I see the same doctor for all of my children's' well visits. Their availability on weekends is something I was not familiar with in the past. My dealings with the office staff has been wonderful. I feel very lucky to have found them. more

I was so impressed with everyone at Tenafly Pediatrics. I ransferred out of another larger practice because i felt nobody knew my child and from the first conversation with the polite staff I knew this was a great office. Since joining my older daughter had been struggling with a constant belly ache and because the doctor listened to my concerns she was finally correctly diagnosed with Celiac disease- I cant say enough good things about all the doctors I have met and my kids love going to the office because eveyone is so nice. One of the nurses made silly voices to help distract my 2 year old son and he didnt even flinch when he got his shots!!! more

I think Tenafly Pediatrics is great!! I have been going to the practice for nearly 15 years and have always loved all the doctors, nurses, and staff. Most recently I had my third child. Since I am an older mother and he was a surprise I was considered high risk and delivered him very early. From the minute I told my pediatrician I was pregnant he was so supportive and really talked me off the ledge many times. Since he has been born he has had many ongoing medical problems and every time the nurses and doctors are quick to help him or just talk to me when I am stressed and confused. One time I called late on a Sunday and they waited in the office for me because I was worried about him being dehyrated- he was ok but if they werent so accomodating to see me on a Sunday I would have waited hours in an emergency room. There is no other practice I've heard of that would be so caring to see sick patients on a Sunday. I love Tenafly Pediatrics and would recommend the practice highly to anyone looking for a pediatrician. Some of firends use other practices and are always complaining that they cant be seen when their kids are sick and I keep telling them- go to Tenafly pediatrics!! You will have trouble getting an appointment with the same doctor twice. Part-time doctors don't know much and don't care. Good only if your kid needs routine checkups and rarely falls ill. Overall bad attitude from front desk staff.\r Pros: lots of parking Cons: poor medical care more

My parents took both my sister and me to Tenafly Pediatrics when we were growing up. The doctors there are really top notch and especially atune to the needs of children. I saw several doctors there and they were all excellant. The practice is very popular and many people go there. They have offices in both Tenafly and Fort Lee and I think this speaks to how good the practice is. They take most major insurance plans and are always willing to squeeze you in if there is an emergency. more
