After 25 years of going to Studebaker's on our yearly Family vacation, We now have to remove them from our list of Must do's!
Our recent experience over the President's Weekend there was to say the least unacceptable behavior for a business!
My husband ordered the Mushroom Burger Platter and I ordered the Cheeseburger Wrap. In getting our order I noticed the meat looked a little off color, greyish. In taking a bite I knew immediately that the meat was bad. My husband took his first bite and thought the mushrooms may be the problem, in removing them and taking another bite he too found the meat was bad.
We called to our waiter, who was very applogetic and said he would advise the "chef" and did we want something else. We declined anything more. After a few minutes the waiter came back visible upset. He advised us that the "chef" yelled at him for even thinking of bringing the food back to the kitchen and that in his opinion the food was fine, and not to bother him as he was 45 minutes behind in service.. At that point I should have gone back to the kitchen and forced him to eat it!
After the children finished with their meals we asked for our check, low and behold the returned items were still on the check. I advised our waiter, who said that the Supervisor would be the one to remove the charges. He went to him and I noticed that they seemed to be having "words". I walked over to see what the problem was and was a little taken back when the Supervisor advised me that the "chef" didn't think there was anything wrong our order. I advised this so called Supervisor that I work for a major company as the Customer Service Manager and this behavior was unacceptable for his business. He again advised me that the kitchen was behind in service and he would go back to talk to the "chef". I advised him that the bill needed to be adjusted and I would not wait any longer. After 10 minutes he removed the charges and made us feel as if we were in the wrong.
Our waiter was advised he put his job on the line by returning the food! I could not believe what I was hearing!
Studebaker's would rather fire a very good waiter and serve rancid food to their customers then to be backed up on their service!!!
Word of advise to Mr. Anthony Syrocki:
From one professional to another...without your customers you would not be in business!
You may want to contact Chef Ramsey to educate your kitchen staff on food prep & service!
We will not be back to your restaurant ever again!
